From Pause to Power: How Losing My Business License Helped Me Lead Nurses Better

Blog Title: From Pause to Power: How Losing My Business License Helped Me Lead Nurses Better

By Glennae Davis, RN, BSN

I didn’t expect to be here.

When I launched Glennae’s RX for Life, I had a clear mission: help nurses, especially Black women, heal from the stress and injustice that no one wanted to talk about. I built books, created systems, and invested my own resources for ten years. But this summer, something happened that shook me.

I got a notice that my LLC was suspended.

No warning. No ceremony. Just paperwork. And in that moment, I had a choice: panic—or pivot.

The Breakdown

I’ll be honest: at first, it felt like failure. Like something I’d built with sacred purpose had been snatched away. But God doesn’t cancel plans—He reroutes them. In the middle of emails and legal codes and EIN updates, I heard the message clearly:

You’re not being punished. You’re being positioned.

The Pivot

That’s when I stood up and made a new decision. I activated my nonprofit, GE Davis Inc., and moved everything under its protection. Same mission. Same woman. New structure. And it made perfect sense: I wasn’t just running a business—I was running a movement.

My work wasn’t designed to survive on sales alone. It was designed to disrupt systems. To educate. To heal. And to be funded by the very institutions that need it most.

And while I was navigating that pivot, I also lost access to LinkedIn—my primary platform for thought leadership and advocacy. For days, I couldn’t post, connect, or update my network. And still, the mission didn’t stop. If anything, it pushed me to build something bigger than a platform. I wasn’t just shifting brands—I was shifting into legacy.

The Application to Nursing

Here’s why I’m telling you this. Because a lot of nurses are walking around feeling like failures.

You’re exhausted. You’ve filed complaints. You’ve taken meds you didn’t want. You’ve tried everything. And it’s not working.

But maybe you don’t need to try harder. Maybe you need to pivot.

Maybe what looks like a breakdown is an invitation to restructure your life. That’s what the Be Brave Nurse Recovery System™ does. It helps you pause with protection. Rest with purpose. And rebuild with a plan.

Just like I did.

The Invitation

This summer, I became the founder of a nonprofit that will outlive any LLC. One that doesn’t just talk about recovery—but funds it, protects it, and delivers it with policy and power.

If you’re tired of trying to make broken systems love you, come pivot with me.

We’re not just writing grants. We’re writing a new chapter in nursing.
